Privacy notice

Last updated 1 November 2026. This replaces the earlier notice on the previous version of the site.

This site is run by Peter John Whitmore. It is built to collect as little about you as possible.

What this site collects

  • No accounts, and no cookies of our own.
  • Analytics and advertising measurement are off unless you press Accept on the cookie notice. If you accept, Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics and Google Ads tags, which set cookies and send Google information such as your IP address, the pages you view and your device type. If you press Decline, or do not choose, none of it loads. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. Google's own privacy notice applies to what it receives.
  • Like any website, the servers that deliver it (hosting and content delivery are provided by Cloudflare) see your IP address and basic request details, and keep them briefly for security and to keep the site running.

Spotify

The Spotify player loads only if you press Load the player or if you have pressed Accept on the cookie notice, in which case the players load for you on every page. From then on Spotify's own privacy notice applies, and Spotify may set cookies. If you do neither, nothing is loaded from Spotify. You can change your mind with Cookie settings in the footer.

If you email me

Emailing peter@peterjohnwhitmore.com shares your address and your message with me. I use it only to reply, and I do not pass it on or add you to a list. Ask me and I will delete it.

Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Suno have their own privacy notices.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Email me and I will respond.

Changes

If this changes, for example when a mailing list is added, this page and its date will change first.
